What's a Cadenza?!

An update on the AVP tourney, as seen from Corbett Tower in Music Hall.

The AVP* Cincinnati Open is heading to Washington Park, so they’re shutting down Elm Street and covering it with sand. 

*This makes more sense if you understand that AVP is not Alien Versus Predator but in fact Association of Volleyball Professionals.

Here’s how Washington Park is coming along. I think it looks fantastic. There’s an entire other half of the park that you can’t see from the window where I was standing. 

Not long now!

Today, the 450-space parking garage under Washington Park opens. 

On July 1, the rest of the park will be unveiled. Here are a few shots of this gorgeous new space— Music Hall’s front lawn.

Here’s the same view of Washington Park before construction began. This is how it looked when I moved to Over-the-Rhine not even two years ago.

Here’s a sight you won’t get to see for much longer: Washington Park under construction. This is the clearest view of Music Hall I’ve had all season. 

The park will be open this summer and will have stages where the Orchestra can perform outdoors. There will also be a dog park and a music-themed playground and all kinds of great stuff.
